Bob Conroy has more than 40 years’ experience in land and bushfire management, covering all aspects of fire management strategy, policy and planning. He is a long-standing member of the NSW Bush Fire Coordinating Committee and was a former Council and Board member of the Australasian Fire and Emergency Service Authorities Council (AFAC). His expertise in fire management operations and strategic planning was called upon to undertake major fire policy reviews and audits for Parks Australia and for AFAC. Bob is also a Deputy Captain with his local brigade and led multiple firefighting teams during the Black Summer wildfires. Bob is a current member of the National Parks and Wildlife Advisory Council and Rural Fire Service Advisory Council and is currently chair of the NSW Nature Conservation Bush Fire Advisory Committee. Bob is the recipient of the National Fire Medal, RFS long service medal and the AFAC Special Acknowledgement Award for Contribution to the Industry and is a Churchill Fellow.
