Brenton Keen recently retired from his role as Director of the Emergency Management Office in the South Australian Fire and Emergency Services Commission (SAFECOM).
In a 44 year career in South Australia’s emergency service and emergency management sectors, he served in senior leadership roles including as an Assistant Chief Officer in the South Australian Metropolitan Fire Service, Deputy Chief Officer of the South Australian Country Fire Service, acting Deputy Chief and Chief Officer of the South Australian State Emergency Service and acting Chief Executive of SAFECOM.
Brenton is a graduate of the United States Fire Administration Executive Fire Officer Program.
Over the last 20 years of Brenton’s career, he worked on strategic, whole-of-government, all hazard, state and national emergency management policy, projects and initiatives, focusing on climate change and disaster risk reduction.
