Peter Akers

Peter served as Chairman of the Victoria State Emergency Service Authority for six years (2013-2019) and past Chair and Board member of Port Phillip and Westernport Catchment Management Authority. Peter has held several high profile CEO roles, serving for seven years (2000-2007) as CEO and Chief Officer of the Metropolitan Fire and Emergency services Board. Previously Peter served for ten years as a local government CEO for two prominent Melbourne metropolitan councils following 10 years as a City Engineer.

A qualified civil engineer and company director, Peter also served for six years on the board of the Australasian Fire and Emergency Services Authorities Council, Chairman 2004 to 2007 and as a member of the Emergency Services Foundation Board. Peter also operated his own management consultancy specialising in executive coaching, change management and strategic planning and has some years experience in environmental and land use planning, environmental and coastal management.
